YouTube sets thumbnails in motion

YouTube presents new form of user awareness

For years, only static “thumbnails” were integrated on YouTube – and that, although YouTube is the largest video platform in the world. But this will soon be a thing of the past. YouTube presents: Animated thumbnails. The “new” thumbnails are placed at the usual position and have the same size – but now, they move and show a preview of the video content as soon as one hovers over it with the cursor. This allows companies to address and motivate users more effectively to click on a video. Currently the animated thumbnails have a length of max. 3 seconds and will only be used for videos which are at least 30 seconds long.

For some time, YouTube tested the new feature on their platform. Now, the  first versions went live. Although, they are not yet available to all users and categories and can only be played on the desktop, we are sure that YouTube will soon again set new ideas into motion.
